Graphite and red dirt on canvas
44" x 64"
A heiau is known from ancient times as a place of safe haven in times of both peace and war to all persons whether friend or foe.
Many remain today in close to their original condition to due location placement and brilliant construction of raw or sculpted lava rock.
The spiritual importance of their remains today through conservation and respect help to perpetuate the Hawai'ian culture and remind
us all of those in paradise before us.
